And, in the process of checking out how much hotels and train prices would be if I did go to London (extortionate on both counts, btw) one of the pages had a virus on it that has killed Chrome. I can't load it, nothing.

Just fucking peachy.

I still have Firefox installed, but since something whacked a redirect on that a few months ago that I can't seem to shift, I don't use it.

Fucknuggets.

I wonder how Opera is.

I'm actually now seriously regretting not living in London.

Why am I regretting this?

Well, that would be because London is where Tom Hiddleston will be on stage reading erotic fiction.

Tom Hiddleston.

On stage.

Reading erotic fiction.

Kill me now.

I really shouldn't have decided that midnight was the perfect time to start reading all of the Clint Barton fic on AO3.

Still, though...

I've just seen a post on a comm with the following note attached to it:

I would prefer Megaupload.

Maybe you would, but I've got a feeling you're going to be shit out of luck ::grin::

Okay, maybe not everything, but quite a lot of it, at least.

Have you ever been walking along the street, thinking about your [community profile] au_bingo card and been struck by how utterly perfectly a fusion between between the X-Men and the Losers would work?

No? Well, I have ::grin::

I guess I know which fandom I'm doing for my 'Mutation' square.

The only question now is do I go with serious or crack?

DangerMouse: DM & Penfold
So, I totally signed up for [community profile] au_bingo.

I figured the choices are threefold:

1) Charles/Erik for everything.
2) Pick and choose fandoms.
3) Find fandoms where each option is canon and then swap them all out ::grin::

Admittedly, option 3 appeals to me, but I don't know if I'd be able to find fandoms for each of them, especially ones I'd know. Although I've got X-Men, The Losers, Highlander and James Bond straight off. Something in me quite fancies the thought of writing Bond and Trevelyan as a version of DangerMouse and (an admittedly a bit psychotic) Penfold in order to tick off the 'animals' square.

So, for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture (and also have nothing to do with Due South), I've spent the last hour reading old LJ posts of mine from 2006. And two of the posts I came across were the one before I went to see X-Men 3 and the one after I'd seen it.

It's amusing how my thoughts on that movie really haven't changed ::grin::

And, also, I had this sentence in the post from before I saw it:

I'm going to see X3 with some people from work after Friday and, although I'm looking forward to it, I'm also thinking I'll have to remember not to nudge the person next to me and every time Charles and Erik are on the screen together and go, "Look! Look! They're so in love!"

Clues you've been in Supernatural fandom too long #43:

Someone fills out an 'Erik gets turned into a Doberman' prompt over at the XMFC kink meme and you're more surprised by the fact that bestiality isn't one of the warnings.

Firstly on here:

http://eschergirls.tumblr.com/

Female (mainly) comic characters in poses that would break their spines, but that artists, apparently, think show off teh sexeh.

From that was a link to here:

http://www.progressiveboink.com/archive/robliefeld.html

The 40 Worst Rob Liefeld Drawings. I'm surprised they managed to stop at 40 because, if we're being honest, you could easily add another three or four zeros to that number and still have enough to keep going for seven more pages afterwards. Then again, anyone who doesn't know how much of a shitty little hack I believe Rob Liefeld to be hasn't heard me talking about comics.

A few months ago I read an article about paper sculptures that were being left around Edinburgh by an anonymous artist. I hadn't realised that article had been updated with the now full story until [personal profile] morganmuffle re-linked to it.

Everyone who hasn't already read this really should. These sculptures are amazing and I just love the way the artist did this. Whoever she is, she deserves massive praise for both the utterly stunning sculptures and the awesome way she carried this out.

Dear nursery who sent an e-mail advert around our work today,

If you're advocating yourselves as a place of learning for young and impressionable minds, it might make more of a statement if your six rather short paragraphs didn't contain one spelling mistake, two grammar errors and one homophone.

If I had kids* and was inclined to pay £900 a month for your services, gotta say, that wouldn't have impressed me.

No love,

Me

* Although, I suppose I could always send the cat. Not quite sure how the finger-painting would turn out, mind...

I'm going to be away overnight tomorrow due to work and this was the process I've just gone through while packing my bag:

Notebook? Check.
Actual book? Check.
Other notebook which has half-written story in it that I might finish? Check.
Is it worth taking another book with me? Okay, I'll only be gone one night, but still, you never know what could happen? Check
Third notebook with yet another half-written story in it that I might finish? Check.

::sits down to check e-mail and surf online::

::Two hours later::

Me: I'm pretty sure I've forgotten something.

::continues to surf online and check LJ and ooh, new fic--::

Me: Bugger! Clothes!

Fear me, people, for I managed to pack five books into my bag for one overnight stay and forget the actual clothes I'll need to wear.

Using shopping to cheer me up after being ill (well, still being ill, technically) leads to me coming home with random crap. I offer you today's purchases:

A rubber duck in a space suit
Space putty
Marvel Monopoly
A rubber man that's a USB hub
A bright green space invaders stress toy
Aloe vera vaseline

I'm not sure if that shopping list says more about me than I really want it to.
