Another bag of rubbish, and that's just from my desk drawers!
Went to Ikea with
alyse today. I've pretty much decided that if the computer desk I was eyeing fits in the room, then I'm going to get it. Yes, it's £225, but it's nice and I like it, so I'm going to treat myself. The other option was either a £30 basic, or a £10 basic (if just because it was called Flarke and I found the name amusing. Because, apparently, I am five...). But they were basic and had no storage. At least this one has storage and it looks good ::grin::
Also, today Al witnessed me becoming an adult. I signed the contract for the house. Eep!
Okay, so I lied about the Misha Collins naked bit...

Jun. 11th, 2009 10:13 pmSo, take that 'omg! so much stuff' comment from yesterday and triple it. Dude! I started at 9:00 this morning and still have stuff to do. On the upside, we don't have to be out of this place omg! right now!, so there's time. I may, however, be sticking some stuff in boxes and sorting it when we're in the new place.
So far, my bedroom alone has rendered three carrier bags of rubbish, two bin bags of rubbish and two bin bags for the charity shop.
And I'm not finished.

lost_house and
temaris:: Yes, I'm being ruthless ::grin::

Er, I'll pay those prices, please...
Apr. 13th, 2009 03:52 pmI've been sorting out some more stuff and I've just found a bunch of tickets for the concerts my mum went to when she was younger, including Queen at Newcastle City Hall on November 7th 1974, for the princely sum of £1.50.
The Bay City Rollers, who were at the same place three days later, were 30p cheaper at £1.20. Supertramp, however, were a total steal at only £1 (on Jan 30th 1975), and the most expensive was Mick Ronson on 13th April 1974 at the shocking price of £1.65.

Ah, inflation. Gotta love it...

Note: This won't be funny to anyone except those who attend
connotations.
So, I'm doing more of the life laundry thing and sorting out another batch of stuff to go to the charity shop. This time, it's videos. And I'm merrily sorting through them when I find the ultimate, the prize, theone two things everyone needs in their life.
Two copies of Street Fighter 2!
Well, I couldn't just let these go to the charity shop when I know there's people out there desperate for this movie. So, a decision was made.
Guess what's going in the
connotations raffle...

Day Three!
Feb. 1st, 2009 08:00 pmDear LJ,
Today I found shed loads of porn in my bedroom and vacuumed some comic boxes.
love,
Claire
::grin::
I also made use of
lost_house's Dad's offer to take stuff to the tip by loading up his car not once, but twice.
And there's still loads more stuff to go to charity, and I'm nowhere near done. I have to go into work tomorrow, so I'll do some more when I get in.
Before Seph left for the day, she gave me orders that it has to be done by October - mainly because she wants to see
temaris's face when she walks into the house ::grin::

So, today
lost_house and I took a pilgrimage to Ikea and bought out all of their shelves. Well, no, not really, but it sure felt like it ::grin::
We Ikea'ed and then we built, and then moved books, and then moved bookcases, and then moved other bits of furniture, and then went for pizza with
alyse.
Seph had me take pictures of my bedroom for a before and after effect. And I found my high school class sixth form picture from 15 years ago (with both me and Seph in it).
Also, me and power tools may be a really bad combination.

Dude! I vacuumed...
Jan. 30th, 2009 07:37 pmSo far, there's been eight large bin bags to the PDSA charity shop (with more to go), and three bin bags of stuff thrown out (with more to go when the bin's not full).
We're off to Ikea tomorrow for shelves. And then it's another day of doing stuff, and shifting many of the piles of books onto actual shelves, whoo!
Also, I may actually end up with a bedroom where there's more floor space than just the walkway from the door to the computer to the bed ::grin::
