Well, the authors have been revealed, and Fault Lines (Weakest Link prompt) was mine ::grin::

I wasn't sure whether I was going to do [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match this year, but I'm really glad I did. The Home Team was full of fabulous writers and I'm proud to have been part of that team. No matter who wins this match, I can safely say that all the writers, both Home and Away, wrote some amazing fic and that's never a bad thing :D

We're a week into [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match and so far there have been some fabulous stories posted for the home team. (Yes, of course I'm biased, that's my team ::grin::)

Mission: Improbable, Thief in the Night prompt
The team does Mission: Impossible, and does it damn well! I'm in love with the imagery in the opening scene of this story when John throws the disc out of the car window and speeds away. SGA needs more spy!AUs, especially ones like this.

Shadows Cast by Outward Things, Pound of Flesh prompt
This is a wonderful creepy story that delves into an event in Rodney's childhood and what it's like when you come face-to-face with the childhood fear no one else believed in. I shiver when I read this because it's so delightfully creepy and one of those stories that reaches into the part of you that knows you're afraid of the dark but isn't sure why.

Attention Paid, Dead Ringer prompt
What happens when John comes back from a mission not entirely right, and Rodney's the only one who notices. The beginning section of this has gorgeous moment that in just team in a nutshell.

Near Things, Eleventh Hour prompt
In which both of the boys nearly end up married and you find yourself cheering John on in his big gay fantasy ::grin:: (I may have said, "Oh, John..." at least twice during this, but, trust me, read it and you'll understand.)

Tonight and the Rest of My Life, One for the Road prompt
Rodney becomes allergic to Atlantis. You find yourself feeling so much for John and Rodney, and the desperation and love they're feeling during that night together just leaps off the page.

Fault Lines, Weakest Link prompt
John and Rodney get turned into Runners with a telepathic link. And the Zelenka/Lorne asides made me grin so much.

Unpredictable, Zero Tolerance prompt
The one where they keep getting thrown in jail. It's set season one, so there's Ford and that undercurrent of being totally cut off from Earth. It's a wonderful, awkward back-and-forward dance between John and Rodney, and you just root for them so badly.

So, that's a week of McShep fics for the Home Team. People should read and vote because there's some great stuff posted, and there's still more to come.

The first two stories for [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match have been posted :-D

The story posted for the Home Team is Mission: Improbable, written for the Thief in the Night prompt. It's a Mission: Impossible style AU where the team have to save the galaxy.

There was also something posted for the other guys, too, but we don't like to talk about them ::grin::

Read. Love. Vote.

Go Home Team! *\o/*

(Yes, there are 24 more days of this to go. Yes, you may want to start throwing things at me at some point. Feel free, I'm good on the ducking thing ;)

Tomorrow sees the first day of posting for [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match. As the icon may suggest ::grin:: I'm on the Home Team this year, which means I've had some sneak peeks at some of the Home Team stories. And seriously, everyone is in for a treat :-D

So, read and love and vote.

Go, Home Team! *\o/*

Choose to fly. Choose to be free. Choose the sky. Choose the universe.

Choose on the flick of a coin. Choose another galaxy. Choose a team. Choose to never leave a man behind, choose puddlejumpers, guns, the ATA gene and a scientist who works his way under your skin like he's been there forever.

Choose a leader, a runner, and a team that complete you. Choose who you are instead of who they want you to be.

Choose not to hide, to reach out and touch him no matter what people say, fingers curling around fingers and knowing you stand together. Choose to defy them all, to stand with your family around you and fight for what's yours, knowing you'll never go back to Earth because you're already home, CO of people you would die for and lover to the one person you live for.

Choose your future.

Choose Atlantis.

Choose your home.

Choose Rodney.

So, now I've finished [livejournal.com profile] mmom, I get to concentrate on [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match and the Primeval Ficathon. Which means another month of writing ahead of me ::grin::

And I'm still debating on [livejournal.com profile] kink_bingo, but I've got until June 7th to make up my mind for that. (Mainly because I'm wondering if I can do random TV shows for that one, as well. "And for 'erotic enemas' we'll go with Rainbow..." ::grin::)

moonlettuce: (Misc: Writing v2)
Am 6,000 words into my [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match fic and have no idea where it's going to end.

And I've signed up to write 34 stories by the end of June. Granted, 32 have to be done by the end of May, but still...

Which means I should stopping reading Torchwood fic and actually write something, yes?
