Hey, since A/W is kinda my OTP, and Dru my favourite female character, it's of the good that Angel did keep insisting on making an appearance here, so count me well pleased. : )

Typical of Angel, despite all that's gone on between them to drop by like this to ask Wes to nursemaid Dru. It shows though how much Angel still trusts Wes, doesn't it, since Dru is also precious to him.

And the ghost of Connor that lies between them fades just a little more.

Sigh. Lovely line.

I wondered if Angel was testing the waters, to see what Wesley does, deliberately using Dru as a way back for them both.

And a little Dru stretches quite a long way! You've captured her voice well. It's easy to overdo the crazy Dru, but here you've got the balance just right. She of course sees all, with childlike clarity.

So this is what years of Watcher training comes down to, nursing an ill vampire back to health in his bedroom. His father would be so proud.

Excellent Wes characterisation there.

But Drusilla doesn't reply, just continues to look at him. "Daddy's kitten," she insists after long moments. "That's why the demon who moves through time lied."

Very clever to work that in. And I love Daddy's Kitten!

So, whether intentional or happy acident, Dru is the bridge between Wes and Angel. I loved the ending, since it speaks to my A/W shipper soul.

Thank you very much for the story. I hope you can tell that I liked it, a lot. It's not often you read Angel/Wes/Dru without it being pretty dark and angsty. This is a nice surprise. ; )
