Okay, so I caved and joined kirk_mccoy ::facepalm::

I could never get away with reading TOS fic as I find William Shatner so vastly unappealing. However, throw Karl Urban into the mix and apparently I'm there like something very sticky sticking to something else very sticky.

Also, I really should do a proper update, shouldn't i?

It would be all adventures in domesticity and how Claire really should wear socks with a pair of New Rocks.

Ahem. Damn you Karl Urban! *shakes fist* It's not helping that Captain Fine is way more fine that poor Bill ever was *g* And while I adore poor Quinto he falls short as Spock IMHO, what's a girl to do? Read Kirk/McCoy of course! :)

Read the Motorcycle series by inell, it's huge and heartbreaking and yummy and just wonderful! :)

The thing is, coming at it as someone who was never in TOS fandom (although I've seen all the eps), the pairing that jumps out of the screen is Kirk/McCoy. For me, it's got nothing to do with ZQ's Spock (who I adored), and everything to do with all the subtext being between Kirk and McCoy. Also, I don't want to break up Spock/Uhura. I like Spock/Uhura ::grin::

It does totally jump out of the screen at you! Which of course makes me cry cause I've been a hardcore K/S fan since I was 11 *pouts*
I love Spock, Spock was my first fandom crush and nu!Spock was pretty damn amazing, but he didn't hold a candle to the batshit crazy reaction I had to Spock!Prime *g* Am just wired that way :)

Eh, I won't go into my Spock/Uhura issues, let's just say that I have them *shuts up now*

This was my exact reaction. I never watched tos and my hubby dragged me to the cinema to see the film and I fell madly in love with Kirk/McCoy.

I didn't need to be dragged, it's just that I'm much more of a Next Gen girl when it comes to Trek. I think the problem with TOS for me is that I have the urge to smack Shatner!Kirk whenever I see him - just can't stand the guy. Pine!Kirk, though... He was enough of a dork to get away with being an arrogant tosser ::grin:: And like I said, throw Karl Urban into the mix and I'm there with bells on ::grin::
