Thank you to the wardrobe department...
Mar. 28th, 2012 12:33 amSo, today ::looks at time:: er, yesterday, I took the day off work because the cinema near to me was showing Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and I missed it the first time around and wanted to see it.
It was the Senior Screen, which is aimed at people 60+, but thanks to the Odeon twitter coming to my rescue after the central box office said I was too young to go, I totally went.
(As an aside, the central box office said I couldn't go, but the people at the actual cinema were all "No problem, come on in, would you like a cup of tea?")
Even better, they only charged me the £3 they charge the seniors. (I was totally expecting - and prepared - to pay the regular price.)
Without spoilers, I think it's definitely the best one of the MI movies. Simon Pegg was brilliant in it. Jeremy Renner was brilliant in it. And Claire was a very happy bunny at various points of that movie.
Although, I've got to say, the highest accolade for that movie has to go to the wardrobe department and to whoever decided to put those perfectly fitted trousers on Jeremy Renner. Whoever you were who made that call, the world thanks you. It thanks you from the bottom of its heart.

Date: 2012-03-28 01:56 am (UTC)I shipped the fuck out of Benji/Brandt. Cute, nerdy, jumper love. And, y'know, secret badass-ness. There was a total canon mancrush on Benji's side, damnit. (And the fact Simon Pegg randomly tweeted a photo of Renner with himself out of focus in the background the other day, announcing it was the best photo of him ever just seals the deal).

Date: 2012-03-28 10:51 pm (UTC)It was quite funny really. There I was, sitting with a bunch of aged 60+ movie-goers and there were at least two points where I think I whimpered out loud. Those trousers were pretty much the reason.
