Meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] catwalksalone and [livejournal.com profile] shetiger.

21 first lines. My last 21 fics.

First lines under cut )

Kind of depressing to see I had to go back to January 2011 to get 21 first lines, though.

What I'd meant to write:

letting Michael's fingers slip across his cheek

What I actually wrote:

letting Michael's fingers slip across his cheese

Er, trust me, there is no cheese involved in these scene. Well, not that of the cheddar variety, anyway ::grin::

Why do I always leave it to the last minute to start writing? Admittedly, I now have 1,300 words of space pirate porn, but it has to be posted by December 1st. Ah, well, if I hammer it tomorrow night, I'll hopefully get it finished and that gives me a day to panic polish it.

It's not the one I wanted to write, as I totally stalled on writing, so it's a porntastic coda. I'll still write the epic space pirate!McFassy fic, just not the in next two days.

I've just plotted out a story.

Okay, this doesn't sound like much, but I don't do that sort of thing. None of the stuff I write is plotted out beforehand. I tend to just have a vague idea in my head of where the story is going and then write and hope for the best. But I've just sat down and actually plotted out a story. With scene breaks and notes and everything. I know what's going to happen in each scene, which is kind of fun and kind of scary. (I rather like the and maybe this should happen now, wheeeeeeeeeeeee! approach I usually take.) But, no, I have in front of me an actual planned out story*. Dude.

So, does this make me a proper writer? ::grin::

* This also means the original idea I had for [livejournal.com profile] deancas_xmas might actually happen in time for the deadline...

So, I'm pretty sure most people in SPN fandom is aware of [profile] spnpermanon. I read the meme, although I don't comment there (mainly because I'm pretty sure if I started getting involved in some of the threads I'd lose half my life in there - that stuff can be addictive to read, never mind participate in).

There are some threads that have made me snort with laughter so loudly the cat looked at me funny. (Seriously, I thought Dean's assbees were going to kill me at one point as I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.) And there are some threads that have made me want to reach through the computer and throttle someone. (Honestly, [profile] spn_j2_bigbang isn't so special that it's the only big bang that can exist, omg! and [community profile] deancasbigbang doesn't make the D/C people special snowflakes responsible for fracturing fandom...)

But so far only one thread has made me grin, blush and meep with glee:

http://spnpermanon.livejournal.com/9805.html?thread=43702349#t43702349

To the anon person who said they ceiling punched when I commented on their porn, and to the one who put me in their dream [profile] salt_burn_porn line-up, thank you. Whether you were the same person, or two separate people, you seriously made my night after a truly crappy week at work.

On the flipside, I need to get back into writing. I've got so many started, partly written and half-finished fics sitting on my hard drive, and I seem to have got out of the habit of just writing.

So, the plan is:

Click here for epic plan of epicness. Also, fic snippets... )

Ficathons

moonlettuce: (Misc: Writing v2)
I do this every time. I sign up to stuff and tell myself that I'll get stuff written early, leave myself plenty of time, get it sent off with ages to spare. And every time I'm sending it in about 1 minute before the cut-off point.

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to the mod of every single ficathon I've ever done (including [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa, because even the one I run isn't immune to this) as I'm one of those people who leaves stuff to the last possible moment, omg! Er, sorry!

(On the upside, I've never defaulted on a ficathon, yet...)
