Rambling January Day 6
Jan. 6th, 2014 09:49 pmAll of these turned out to be Atlantis-based, but SGA was my boo much more than SG-1 was.
Ooh, this is difficult as I have so many good memories associated with Stargate.
The many, often hilarious Friday night cocktail parties at the SGA cons. Our table was often the best table, usually because the cons were around the same time as
The cocktail party I got kissed by Jason Momoa at! We didn't have enough seats at the table for when the guests came around, so each time someone came, one of us moved. I ended up sharing a seat with Tori Higginson who was all "We can share!" And then when Jason came around he was all "I can't take your seat, sit with me!" Then part way through chatting to everyone, he picks up my digital camera turns it on us, and takes a photo of him kissing me. I may been speechless for the rest of the night. Actually, no, that's not entirely true, I seem to remember squeaking out "I just got kissed by Jason Momoa..." every now and again.
The very first SGA Santa, when
The interpretive dance of the Atlantis Talent Show. One of the Connotations conventions saw a few of us up very late, and we decided that since John has to have a degree as he's an officer that he majored in Interpretive Dance at college, which meant when Elizabeth announced the first annual Atlantis Talent Show and told all of the senior staff that they had to attend, that's what John was doing. (Zelenka played the balalaika.)
Accidentally superglueing a Stargate to my bedroom floor. Back in 2006 (which is 8 years ago!!), I went with doing a Stargate: Atlantis theme for the Easter Egg decorating contest my work held. I got a little carried away, but had so much fun. The photos are on this post: http://moonlettuce.livejournal.com/337788.html, is anyone wants to see them, and the entire sorry story is chronicled with this tag: http://moonlettuce.livejournal.com/tag/easter%20eggs%3A%20egglantis
Every time someone recognises the tattoo on my wrist. Or, even more hilarious, when they go "Ooh, is that a constellation? Which one is it?" and I go "It's the point of origin chevron from Stargate: Atlantis!" and their reaction is O_O (I will also occasionally answer this question with "It's the Lantean constellation from the Pegasus galaxy...")
Owning a SGA Guide that has most of the cast's opinion on clowns written in it. This was started after a random conversation in an autograph line where Chuck Campbell and I bonded over our hatred of clowns. The book was signed "I hate clowns! Chuck Campbell" and thus a tradition was born. I was personally unaware that clowns had eaten Joe Flanigan's father, but there you go...
Damn it, I really feel like watching SGA now...
