Okay, so I just got used to being able to see the phrase 'sparky' for John/Elizabeth without rolling my eyes, (Dudes! What's wrong with saying 'John/Elizabeth'?), and now I've just seen 'Spanky' used for Teyla/Ronon.
*boggles*
What? Do you have to have cutesy matching names for your het ships? Is this some sort of brain disease sweeping through the het side of the fandom? Because I'm more than sure I've never seen any of the slashers who also ship Teyla/Ronon refer to it as anything other than Teyla/Ronon.
What's next after Sparky and Spanky? (And, yes, that does sound like a freaky kids tv show...) And how does it work? Does every ship follow the 'spa_ky' line? Because I can see a limited shelf-life in that.
And also, does this mean we're going to need a glossary of terms? I mean, I know McShep sounds like people should be asking if you want fries with that, but at least it's easy enough to work out who it refers to.
In non SGA news, I went up to Newcastle today to pick up the boots I'd dropped off at the cobblers on Thursday. It's been raining pretty heavily, so I looked like a drowned rat when I staggered into the shop... only to realise I'd left the ticket in my other bag and I couldn't prove they were my boots without it. *sigh* Guess who's going back up to Newcastle tomorrow.
