This? Is going to be fun. (And expensive, but I'm not thinking about that. la-la-la-la.)

Hmm. Only £5 on the door? Am strongly tempted, just to wander around and see what a proper large con is like. Because I went to a Wolf tour signing with Shanks and Judge which was my first ever guest-con, and it sucked lemons so badly that it has seriously undermined the likelihood of me ever trying anything like it again. But £5 is a lot easier to bear than £40 if it goes wrong a second time ;-) And whew, what a line-up!

:)

I chickened out in the end, I'm afraid. Couldn't find anyone to go with me and didn't want to bank on finding you there in the scrum...

But we went to see Star Wars III. Can I just say that Anakin is nutzoid?! Sheesh... I mean I know he was going to become Vader, but I thought it would be a more gradual and rational process than that!!

Apparently, the book elaborates much more and goes ito the scenes that Lucas in his crack-fueled misconceptions infinite wisdom left out.

Yes, it rather needed the depth of coverage a book can give... Did the book come first this time?

I can't work out whether Lucas has just lost his creative genius, or sold out to popular cinematic trends for the profit... But I think the first three films beat the modern three hand over fist, except for the gorgeousness of that Jedi OTP that is Qui/Obi *G* Still good fun to watch though.

Also: ::hugs:: that the Wolf con sucked. I tend to think that conventions are too much fun for words, so I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it :-(

Thanks *sniffle* Mainly it sucked because I wasn't with anyone, which is why I wasn't risking Saturday... but there was also *nothing* to do while waiting for the photo/autograph opportunities, and you couldn't even mingle because the seats were set up like in an auditorium and everyone grabbed a place and stayed put. And then by the time I got to the autograph queue, Shanks was being a bastard (he is largely responsible for my distinct cooling off towards SG-1 I'm afraid...) and I was so depressed that I couldn't summon the courage to talk to Judge, even though *he* was lovely and wonderful and clearly ready to chat and we loff him for it ;) And he signed my DVD "Jaffa love" :) But I didn't even tell him why I wanted him to sign that one (for the episode Bane). Bah.

So all I can say is, of the admittedly tiny number of conventions I have experienced, yours kicks ass over the guest cons *G*

On which subject...

Is it ok for me to send in a registration form on behalf of my mum, pp signed? Not like I could smuggle in an underaged kid by pretending she was my mum ;) But she's very *very* new to the whole fandom/lj/con thing and wanted me to sort it all out.

That's fine. But only because we know you ;-)

We may ask her to sign on when she gets there, just so we have a copy with her signature in the files, but that's fine :-)

Hee, thanks :) She won't mind signing for you when she arrives, it's not a Sekrit Identity thing *G*
