I did the induction for the new temps at work today, and the birth date of one of them was 1989.

I feel so old...

I know for a fact I still own socks I bought in 1989. And let's not even mention that I still have my leg warmers. At least hubby got rid of all his parachute pants.

nowhere near as scary as when i discovered (whilst trying to do his performance review) that one of the guys who worked for me when i was a teamleader started working for our company (well, one of the companies that eventually became us:) in 1975... you know, the year we were both *born*.

I have a pair of wooly tights from M&S I bought in 1983 :) Darned and washed to pieces but so comfy!

What made me feel beyond weird the other week was realising that I was actually old enough to be a mother to all the students at work :( I still indignantly/sarcastictly think 'do I look old enough?!!?' if anyone asks me if I have any toddlers or young kids despite turning 40 two weeks ago ::sighs:: I'm still only 23 in my own little universe ...

*g* I was looking at this lad thinking 'I have food in my fridge older than you are...'

(Er, not really on the food thing because, y'know, ewww ;-)

*g* A couple of years ago someone tried to give me a leaflet for teen passes on a Metro station saying "Teenagers at home?" Cue me on the phone to [livejournal.com profile] lost_house frantically asking if I look old enough to have teenage kids.

(Ignoring the assumption that everyone has kids, anyway. 'Cause, y'know, in a contest between having kids and having comics, the comics win every time ;-)
