Fine - I'm south London based - well away from the danger area but we're hearing sirens all round us which is disconcerting.

Very concerned for colleagues and friends up in town.

Me and Sam are fine, I had three emails in my inbox from her, I expected them to be 'ARE YOU OKAY!:!!' but she was just having a go 'cause I went to see The Barrowman and left her to watch Dead Poets Society. I think maybe she doesn't know. But yes, we're okay.

A lot of the networks have been turned off because in Madrid they triggered bombs by mobile. So not to worry if you can't contact people by mobile.

The rational part of my brain was going: there are several reasons why the mobiles networks could be down. It's a major incident, everyone will be trying to use mobiles.

The rest of my brain was going: ARGH!! JUST CONNECT ME, YOU FUCKING LUMP OF PLASTIC!!!

Er, apparently my information there was completely wrong anyway.

1. The Madrid bombings were triggered by the alarm clocks on mobiles, not by a call.

2. The networks were giving priority to emergency services but were not turned off.

Just to try and cap the extraordinary amount of erroneous information flying about.
