So, my weekend pretty much broke down into the following:

  • Driving to [livejournal.com profile] beren_writes's house with [livejournal.com profile] alyse. The journey's kinda strange because it's motorway for most of the way and then the last 30 minutes, you literally take a turn off a roundabout and hit werewolf territory. Large hedges and tiny roads and doing it in the dark is seriously creepy, and I wouldn't have been surprised is a large wolf had pounced out at us at any point. (Well, I would have been surprised, truthfully. I mean, it's not every day a werewolf jumps out at you for no reason.)

  • Christmas presents! The reason we were there was for Beren's annual Christmas party. It was on Saturday as December of last year was totally booked up ::grin::

  • More sugar-based goods than anyone knew what to do with. Seriously, when fangirls cater, they bloody well cater.

  • Tessellating fangirls. (There was an actual dry run of how people were going to sleep in order to maximise the floor space:people ratio, including people having to get up and shuffle around based on who generally gets up to pee in the middle of the night)

  • Discussions of having a barbecue around the theme of a zombie apocalypse, which somehow evolved into the theme of zombie apocalypso, which is much the same but with more steel drums.

  • Monkey pants! (Which, hitherto, render all other arguments invalid...)

  • Being muchly amused by the fact that someone apparently guessed which Secret Angels fic I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] deancastiel, not by reading the story, but by the fact that I used ellipses in my summary. (Which also made me stop and go, well, actually I do use them a lot... ::grin::)

  • The Secret Angels and [livejournal.com profile] deancas_xmas reveals both happened, which means I can now post my stories here and post my 'What I Wrote in 2010' list :)

  • In conclusion: Awesome weekend was awesome :)

moonlettuce: (SPN: Dean v2)
Title: All Been Done
Author: Claire
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Spoilers: None
Word Count: 3,534
Summary: All Ben ever wanted to be like Dean Winchester...
Notes/Prompt(s): Written for [livejournal.com profile] deancastiel's Secret Angels IV exchange. I went for the following prompt: Ben's perspective; Dean stays with Lisa as more of a roommate than as a lover to his mother and he grows up learning to be a hunter at Dean's hand, learning the stories of the legendary Winchesters. As Ben reaches adulthood, he witnesses the encounters between his surrogate father and a certain mysterious, dark haired man that visits him only in secret.

Massive thanks to Aithine for the beta.

The car was sitting in the drive when Ben woke up, sleek and black and sitting there like it belonged... )

Title: House of the Rising Sun
Author: Claire
Fandom: Supernatural
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~14,000
Summary: Between the serial killer and his partner, Dean Winchester's week really can't get any worse.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] nyoka for [livejournal.com profile] deancas_xmas, using the prompt: SPN AU: Dean and Castiel are big city cops. I've never written an AU before and I had a brief thought about this one which somehow turned into a little over 14,000 words. Huge thanks to Aithine for the beta and for pointing out the bits that made no sense and didn't work :-)
