I got a job!
Jun. 6th, 2003 07:20 pmYes, I am finally back in the ranks of the employed :)
For those of you who don't know, I've been out of work since 2001 when I had to leave work because my Meniere's took a turn for the worse. Two years, two operations and several hospital visits later, it's now controlled enough for me to get back to work full time.
After sending off umpteen dozen applications and either getting knocked back or just hearing nothing (I guess a 2 year gap in the resume kinda puts people off), I went into a temping agency on Wednesday, got offered a job on Wednesday and got it confirmed for definite today (they had to do some checking with health and safety about the Meniere's thing). And I start on Monday. So, yay me!

And oh, do I know about the paycheck... I've mentally spent mine five times over already. Expect to be very tired the first days, though, getting used to the grindstone again.
Best of luck, I hope the job works out great, and, well... Yay You!
XanDutch,
who actually *won't* be working next Monday since it's a national holiday. But I'll think of you while sitting in the sun...

I'm actually looking forward to it. Well, okay, I'm looking forward to having money to spend and dragging people to ConneXions next year...
