Bugger. I seem to have started a Primeval/Torchwood story. Which now means I have four three Primeval stories started that I need to finish. (Am resolutely ignoring this one, which I'm not writing. No sirree, nope.)

(Also, icon by [livejournal.com profile] alyse, ftw!)

I thought it was just me. I was thinking earlier today about a Primeval/Torchwood xover, spurred by the thought that if Nick were Jack, and it was Ianto who was killed, Jack would tear the universe apart to get him back. And Nick meets Jack in a pub and Jack talks him into doing exactly that.

::grin:: He would. He so, so would.

Mine starts off with Jack, Ianto and Stephen having sex and Nick walking in on them - I seem to have gone for less plot and more porn ;)

So, tell me about Primeval. This is the first I've heard of it.

Okay, so basically it starts 8 years ago where a woman is being chased through a car park by a dinosaur.

Flick to now and we meet Nick Cutter (http://pics.livejournal.com/moonlettuce/pic/000ktgz6), an evolutionary zoologist who's a professor at Central Met University and his "research assistant" Stephen Hart (http://pics.livejournal.com/moonlettuce/pic/000krtzb).

One of their students, Connor Temple (http://pics.livejournal.com/moonlettuce/pic/000ksgbg) comes into their office with a newspaper that's printed a photo of a 'giant unknown predator' around the Forest of Dean. Connor manages to persuade them to go and check it out.

When they're there, they meet Abby Maitland (http://pics.livejournal.com/moonlettuce/pic/000kqh99), a lizard expert from the zoo who's been called by a woman whose son has found a strange lizard in the forest. The lizard turns out to be a Coelurosauravus from the Permian era.

It turns out that there are anomalies opening between our time and the prehistoric time and dinosaurs are coming through.

The team, with backing from the Home Office, follow creature sightings and return dinosaurs to their own time.

We also find out Nick's wife, Helen, is alive (she was the woman being chased through the car park by the Gorgonopsid) and has been living in the past for the last eight years and knows more about the anomalies than she's letting on.

Why do I like it? It's great fun and has dinosaurs. Also, Nick and Stephen keep throwing longing looks at each other and are about as married as they can get. There's also angst and woobieness. Basically, I love this show :D
