So, you know that David Tennant and Patrick Stewart are appearing in Hamlet in Stratford, yes? And that it sold out, like, instantaneously, yes?

And you also know that it's moving to London for a run at the Novello, yes? And that the tickets for it don't go on general sale until September 12th, yes?

Well, it turns out that they're already on sale if you're a member of the RSC.

Guess who joined the RSC yesterday and just happened to have 13 15 tickets fall on to her credit card today...

*whistles innocently*

Saturday 3rd January 2009, Novello Theatre, £30.

So, [livejournal.com profile] temaris, [livejournal.com profile] lost_house (and M), [livejournal.com profile] alyse, [livejournal.com profile] the4ts, [livejournal.com profile] beren_writes (and R), [livejournal.com profile] thwax, [livejournal.com profile] seiyaharris, [livejournal.com profile] saffronra, [livejournal.com profile] mandragora1, [livejournal.com profile] klo_the_hobbit, [livejournal.com profile] solittleshame and [livejournal.com profile] mattimooz, you guys up for it? ::grin:: (I sort of totally assumed you would be and just booked the tickets under that assumption, but if you don't want them, I'm pretty sure I can do something with them ::grin::)

Oh, yes. I'm up for it ;)

If you do have problems getting shot of them, I'm sure L at work is still interested in going. Not that I think you'll have problems getting shot of them :)

... I am so tempted. Seriously tempted.

Do you know if the early sales are still open should I... say... get a membership today?

Dude, yes!! :D (and should you need to get rid of an extra one at any point, then Rachel will gladly take it off your hands!)

Do you want me to see if I can get an extra ticket for her?

Pre-sales stay open until the tickets go on general release on September 12th. If you join as a member (£36 for the year) then it processes overnight and you'll be able to ring them for your membership number tomorrow and then book tickets.

Basically, you need to wait a day before you can book after joining.

If only to avoid her stabbing me in my sleep and attempting to pretend she's me on the night ;) if you could, it would be great. If not, don't worry. She went to see Othello with Ewan McGregor last year without me. Turnabout is totally fairplay.

We're in (me, Soph and Rob), thank you so much for thinking of us. How would you like the money?

Fear not the stabbing, I just added two tickets to the booking, so she's got one if she wants one :D

It looks like getting rid of them may not be a problem, since I just added two more to the booking ::grin::

Hee! I thought you guys would be up for it :D

Cheque is fine, or bank transfer if you prefer :D

I was talking to Tem and we were hoping that day would be okay with it being near your Mum's birthday, but this Saturday had the best seats. (Upper Circle, rows D & E, in the middle, if you want to know.)

Both Soph and I have the 2nd off for my dear Mama's birthday, so all should be fine :). We also checked that there were no wedding on that Sat as well.

If you could email me your bank details I can get Rob to do the bank transfer *hugs*

Plane ticket: $700
Hostel: $250 (for 5 days, cheapest plane fare, plus it's silly to go just for the play and not spend any time in the city)
Food: $150 (if I'm careful)
Ticket & Membership: $130
------------------------------
Total: $1230 ...which is pretty low for a week overseas (though I usually make my weeks last 9 days, so it's not that low - I'm just trying to convince myself it's worth it. It has been so long since I've crossed the Atlantic.)

Is there any chance that you could grab us another 2 tickets? Perfectly understandable if you can't, will attempt our own route, but we have a friend from the US and his mother staying with us until the 4th (probably and if not I'm sure it won't be difficult to find someone who would like to go) and they would probably die to see Dr Who and Captain Picard in the same production ::g::.
