Oh. Oh, Donna.
It is seven shades of unfair that Rose Bloody Tyler got her happy ending and Donna got everything that she'd gone through erased. She'd grown so much as a person and now it's all gone. She said no and he still took it from her.
And I understand why he did it. Given the choice between dying and not remembering he'd rather have her alive, but still. She knew what would happen and she didn't want go back to who she'd been. All that, for nothing.
And yes, there are people out there who sing songs of Donna Noble, but, damn you,RTD Doctor, you took that away from her.
I never expected to like Donna. She annoyed the hell out of me in The Runaway Bride, but week after week Catherine Tate pulled it right out of the box and brought Donna to perfect, bloody perfect, life.
And now?
You know, I watched as the ship Adric was on crashed into Earth, I watched as Sarah Jane was abandoned back on Earth before the Doctor went to Gallifrey and I watched as Ace... well, just disappeared, actually ::grin:: And this? This is possibly the cruellest goodbye to a Companion because she made a choice, she knew what the options were and she made that choice, and he still took it all away from her anyway.
Damn you, Rusty, why couldn't you have killed off Rose instead. It's not like I'd have cared about that one.

Date: 2008-07-05 09:29 pm (UTC)I'm sure there is some lesson in there about putting men on pedestools and then being disappointed when you find that they are only human.

She gets a slightly insane, war broken human in the bad suit and the knowledge that the person so destroyed dimensions for is still out there somewhere and always will be even after her Mark 2 Doctor blows himself up rewiring the house or wraps his car around a lamp post.
Bad RTD. While my love foe Ten is still strong, my love for you has gone.

Date: 2008-07-06 12:57 am (UTC)I mean, what? Were they supposed to just leave the Daleks there and think, "Oh well, surely that won't come back to bite us in the ass!"?

I wouldn't have minded losing Rose, but the impact it would have had on the Doctor and Jack for starters I most definitely can do without. And we never got the Jack/Rose reunion!
