So, I have a new shiny in the shape of a DVD player with a USB port. This makes me very happy. The £30 price tag (thank you, Asda) also made me very happy ::grin::

So...what does that mean? Can you play videos off a USB stick?

Yup. The player reads the USB stick and you just chose the file you want to watch and it loads it up and plays it.

Oh, go you! :)

My dad got one before I did, so I felt the shame and I got one too *g*

(does it recognise ntfs drives? Cause most of them have this problem and will only see a fat32 drive (which is the factory setting for most usb sticks and external drives)).

I don't know. Two of my externals are formatted to NTFS, but I'm not planning on plugging them in to the player. (Not sure if I could, to be honest. [livejournal.com profile] the4ts's one only reads drives up to 100GB, I believe, and none of my externals are that small.)

I'm not planning on re-formatting the USB stick (there's no point, since it's only a 4GB stick, so I physically couldn't have anything on there, anyway), so it's all good ::g::

But like you, I have an 8gb usb stick, so yeah, that works fine :) I was just you know, curious on how things work *g*
