Yes, and not only that but they decided to make Connor/Nick actually canon.

Have you played the game yet? Connor's videolog this week was worse than the ep for me (she says in a non-spoilery way).

As far we know he's definitely not returning in series three, although nothing has been said about series four. (Er, if they get a series four, that is ::grin::)
