If you like a song enough to use its name or some of its lyrics for the title of your fic, then I'd like to assume you could also spell the name of the person who wrote/sang it.

I'd like to... but, apparently, I'd be wrong.

Oh, I'm right there with you. My own letter goes something like this:

Dear writer in the same Yuletide fandom as me,

If you say you know a fandom well enough to offer to write it for Yuletide, then I'd like to assume you actually know the name of one of the major characters.

I'd like to... but OBVIOUSLY and OVER and OVER I'd be wrong.

DINAH DINAH DINAH. Stop calling her DIANA.

Oh, that bugs the hell out of me. I can't tell you the amount of times we've had to say to people on Wraithbait "It's Sheppard, not Shepherd..."

Worse. Mine's a book and comics fandom -- there's no excuse for getting the name wrong when it's spelled out right in front of you.
