So, I had a hospital appointment this morning, and they were only running an hour behind, which wasn't too bad. Apparently, because I don't get attacks that have me spinning for more than 20 minutes and vomitting, I no longer get classed as having 'proper' Meniere's. Never mind that I still spin, and the world still tilts, if I was being diagnosed today it wouldn't be Meniere's, I would just get classed as being slightly unbalanced. Cue snerking from my mother when I told her this, because her reply? "You've always been more than *slightly* unbalanced."

Dr V. (who I saw) is going to speak to Mr H. (who is my consultant but wasn't at the hospital this morning, which is why they were running behind) and they're going to decide if it's worth putting another grommet in, or if I have to live with the short attacks. Yay. Not.

And then I had a package from [livejournal.com profile] viciouswishes waiting for me when I got home. With a funky purple pen. With feathers! And a crown! And there are sweets. And a vanilla candle. Yay mail!

Also, because I had the day off work, it feels like Saturday.

Hospitals suck, don't they? I wish they would tell me I no longer have diabetes, but I fear that even if they did they'd find a way to actually make me take *more* injections.

Your mom made me laugh though. And I love the icon.

But what on earth is a grommet?

They halfway cured it, and now decide that because the cure works they're not going to continue it?

The medical mind continues to baffle me.

*hugs*

i have this secret suspicion that you are the only stable one amongst us all...

'course, that means that the whole world is wobbling & we are just wobbling in sync... which has now put the picture in my head of everybody walking down the street, swaying in harmony like some strange cult (while the clara tries to dodge us all).

hum... time to stop thinking...
i think i've done too much work this week :)

on a plus point, very cute icon :)

*Many hugs*. I'm glad you're better than you were before, and I hope they give you the plastics it takes to be 100% good. *Smooches*. I feel your pain. Trust me.

*hugs and lots of well wishes*

I would probably kill those doctors if they refused to treat me. But that's probably because every time I get dizzy, I also have panic attacks. However, if you need a good hitwoman... :)

Your mother cracks me up.

So the package...I sent it a while ago. Trying to get it there before Valentine's Day... Then I get an e-mail saying that I have a package. Well the guy at my school post office didn't notice that it was supposed to be shipped to the UK, so he only put enough postage for the US. *facepalms* Did the pen make it all right? I was a little worried.

Thanks, love :-)

The one thing I'm grateful for is that the Meniere's doesn't involve daily injections, since I don't do needles well.

A grommet is a small hourglass-shaped piece of plastic with a hole down the middle. It's put into my eardrum to help make me more balanced *grin* They're designed to stay in for only 6 - 12 months and the last one I had is out, so I've got to wait and see if they decide to put another one in there *sigh*

And Methos/Kronos is my otp for Highlander *grin*

Thanks, luv :-) I hope they do whatever they need to to have me able to walk in a straight line. because now I've been well enough to work for the past 6 months, I'd like to stay that way.

*grin* I'll keep you in mind ;-)

And the pen arrived perfectly. It writes in purple! Which makes sense, considering it's purple plastic and feathers, but still, wheeeeeeee!

So, I've been sitting here, not writing Prison!AU Angel/Spike/Wesley in purple pen *grin*

XanDutch thanks [livejournal.com profile] viciouswishes for sending Claire the purple pen and hopes it may see much use.

I'm stupid for not remembering this explanation, which I think you've given me once before.

The doctors are stupider if they think that the thing that helped isn't necessary anymore now that it's stopped working.

I just love Methos a lot, so I pretty much don't even care who he's with! ;)

Also, I was watching Strictly Ballroom, and one of the girls in the dance studio reminded me of you.

erm well the good news is that on the next job application you can put slightly unbalanced? I am trying to work out if that is better.... well I am told that it is better than slightly unhinged....

[[[[[[[HUGS]]]]]]]] hon

Let me know when and where and I'll beat them up for you

Eeek! I've now come up with Wibble!Seph and a whole host of others - you know "Wibbles wobble but they don't fall down" ?
Will the existing grommet need replacing at some point? Surely it's best to put the second in and hope it cures the problem to the greatest possible extent? Can you ring and speak to your consultant? If it could be the difference between holding down a steady job or always be subject to random episodes surely it's worth doing?
Bah! Idiots! Shall I add the NHS to my current "kill list" (looks to check) At this rate I could fit them in three weeks come Thursday...
