Dear Currys/PC World,

Why, yes, I love having to take holiday from work when I've got crap loads to do because when I ring up to get an engineer out to come and fix my computer your call center bod tells me you can't do weekends. I also love when said engineer turns up 90 minutes late (not his fault, the weather's been a bitch) only to find out that you've sent the wrong motherboard with him and he can't actually fix it.

No, I didn't let him take the computer with him to be fixed elsewhere, especially when he told me you were at least three weeks behind on repairs. My ire increased when he said he couldn't book another job to come back with the right motherboard, as apparently, your service levels have changed and you don't allow a second call back. It's fix it there or bring it in for repair.

And, yes, I was the reason one of your engineers rang up and said that he had a customer who refused to let him take the PC and was insisting on someone coming out with the right motherboard.

My sterling impression of your company was topped off when the bloke on the other end of the phone got me an appointment for this Sunday. You know, one of the days I was originally told you couldn't do. Which is why I took time off work.

Fuck that shit. Expect a complaint (not about the engineer today or the guy he spoke to today, both of whom were very helpful) landing on one of your desks soon.

Yours, so vastly unimpressed,

Claire

"Fuck that shit."

Indeed my friend. Why do I suddenly want a t-shirt that says that very thing?

Very cool and controlled rant. :-)

I was so unamused yesterday. I think the annoying thing is I've got quite a lot going on at work at the moment and I really could have done with not taking the time off.

Hope things get better for you, babe.
