So, I went shopping to the MetroCentre with alyse today yesterday. It's actually the first time I've been shopping on Boxing Day, and it didn't seem too busy in the MetroCentre itself, but some of the shops were manic. Purchases were made in Lush and Hotel Chocolat, and I bought myself a couple of pairs of new boots in the Evans sale (boots that cater to wide feet and fat calves ftw *\o/*).

Most amusingly, though, I'm now the owner of a pair of four-inch purple stilettos. For those people that know me (and are now, no doubt, making O_O faces at their computers), no, none of that sentence was a typo. They were £7 and it amused me heartily to buy them. I'm even threatening to wear them into work. And I'm totally blaming alyse for being an evil enabler who enables like an enabling thing.

Today, we shopped like shopping things, and it was really rather fun :D

Lots of blinking, then wondering if I could even walk in 4 inch heels. And I thought me wearing a dress on Christmas day, particularly a dress that didn't go down to my feet, was slightly worrying.

Evans have some awesome boots in, and the prices of them are really good. Both of mine were £20 a pair and had been reduced from £40 and £60. And, if you don't want to brave the weather, you can always buy them online :)

4 inch heels aren't that bad to walk in. Then again, a lot of pairs of boots that I've owned over the years have been 3-3.5 inch heels, anyway, so it's not that much of a leap :)

They're actually quite easy to walk in, but I'm used to 3-3.5 inch heels from various boots I've owned ::grin::

In fact, I struggled my way up to Evans (erm, it's a steep road, and the snow has melted and then refrozen so it's rather like trying to walk up a skating rink) to find they only had boots reduced to £60, so yeah, came home and ordered a pair online (incidentally, are you a size smaller in Evans than in other shoe shops, because I am and it's odd).

Oh, and speaking as someone who regularly wears 4 inch heels round the office (although nowhere near as awesome as sparkly, purple ones), whatever you do make sure you have comfy shoes to change into...

Dude! I loves me some tall heels. I'm known in my circle for regularly wearing boots and CFM shoes that are 4-6inches. My wedding shoes (for my wedding next year) are 4 inches and sparkly as hell. ;)

I wore these denim knee high boots and a short little skirt around Vegas recently and man, they were about 5 inches and my feet were killing me, but damn it, it was worth it. :)

Huh. I am *always* a size smaller in Evans than in any other shoe shop. (and when I leant my heels to Hugh at work (long story!) he's a size 8 to 9 and the heels were 7s and they fit him perfectly! - He couldn't walk in them, but that's a whole other issue!)

I tend not to wear heels all that often, and if I do, then they're boots as opposed to shoes, but what the hell. It was Christmas and it was amusing, which is good enough for me ::g::
