The bunnies are talking...

I do this every time. I sign up to stuff and tell myself that I'll get stuff written early, leave myself plenty of time, get it sent off with ages to spare. And every time I'm sending it in about 1 minute before the cut-off point.

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to the mod of every single ficathon I've ever done (including sga_santa, because even the one I run isn't immune to this) as I'm one of those people who leaves stuff to the last possible moment, omg! Er, sorry!

(On the upside, I've never defaulted on a ficathon, yet...)

I don't know what's up with me, but it feels like I'm dragging each and every word out me kicking and screaming ::sigh::

It's kind of sobering to be uploading all your older stuff to a website and realising how much you used to suck. Overwrought Emotions and Purple Prose R Us, lol!

I'm still putting it all up, though. If just for the lols and the posterity.

So, I was going to do 25 First Lines meme that I saw on a few people's journals, and then I totally forgot. And then I remembered again, so here it is!

So, from the looks of it, I've started nine fics out the last twenty-five with names and seven with dialogue. I'm apparently using second person pov more than I used to (three fics started with 'You' or 'You've') and I'm falling into present tense more often, as well. Hmmm...

Also, can I point out that more than half of these (sixteen to be precise) were written for mmom and six of them for kink_bingo, so that probably had an affect (although I'm not exactly sure what), since the stories were focused on kink and wanking ::grin::

Also also, the mmom thing hopefully explains why there seem to be some really weird fandoms in there ;-)

So far this year I've written approximately 24,000 words in 40 stories across 22 fandoms. This is about 8,000 more words than I wrote in the entirety of 2007 and doesn't include the fic I wrote for mcshep_match, which adds another ::ahem:: words.

I haz been a writey person this year...
