Jan. 13th, 2003 11:04 pmAnd now am I not only feeling justified in reading Sorority Boys slash, but also in writing it - well SB/Smallville, anyway. Because it's about Lex and Adam...
Enlightening Clark to so many things he never knew about. Because Clark didn't know this about himself. Didn't know he'd get so hard at just seeing Lexa and Adina. Because it's Lex and Adam, but it *isn't*. Lexa and Adina, all soft curves and painted lips, evoking needs of care and gentleness. Lex and Adam, pale skin and hard flesh. And Clark looks at them and wants harsh, brutal kisses than burn and bruise for Lex and Adam. Kisses that soothe and comfort for Lexa and Adina.
And there's a fine line between them that blurs with every second. A line that's being erased with every touch. Because Lex's bruises look too good on Lexa. And Adina's softness bleeds too easily into Adam. Part of it terrifies Clark, this darkness that revels at the finger-shaped bruises on Lex and Adam. Hand-shaped marks adorning skin, bruises covering wrists and thighs where Kryptonian strength has pinned a body beneath him. And he knows it's changing, sees the balance shifting, frightening him that he sees Lex in Lexa and Adina in Adam. Frightens him that the softness is showing through with Adam and that Lex is wearing more bruises these days. And his mother's noticed. Saw the look in her eyes as he softly rubbed his fingers over Adam's hand before those same fingers grabbed Lex's wrist just too tightly. He's seen her pull Lex back when they were headed to the barn. She said it was a question about the weekly order, but Clark knows better. Because he watched as the concerned hand reached out for Lex's wrist, and watched as Lex only shook his head and pulled his sleeves down further.
But Clark can't help it. He can't help touching Adam like he'd fragile, holding Adina like she's nothing more than spun glass that would shatter if he pressed too hard. Not like Lex. Lex is like a spirit, a phantom. Clark needs to make sure Lex is real. Needs to hold him tight to know that he won't vanish.
Because he sees the difference in them. Sees that Lexa is a face Lex slips on to entice, to enchant. The girl who'll leave whore red lipstick on your flesh when she sucks your cock and then bend you over and fuck you. But Adina's part of Adam, a piece of his psyche that needs nurturing. They're the perfect compliment to each other. Adam to love and hold, and Lex to fuck and bruise. Because it's not his fault if both of them slip into the guise that he needs them to so easily and without effort.
And his dad approves of Adina. Approves of her soft voice and feminine ways, even forgives her for being Lex's cousin. He doesn't mind Clark going over to the mansion so much, knowing his son is spending time with Adina and not Lex. Doesn't know that Clark spends the first hour of each visit fucking the harshness into Lex's body, leaving Clark with only the gentleness Adina needs, the softness that Adam craves. Because if Adam gets the soft side of Clark, then Lex gets the dark. Gets it fucked into him every day. Because Lex can take it, can take Clark's aggression, Clark's hardness. Can take it as it paints a pattern of purple and red onto his skin. And it won't break Lex, because Lex learned not to break at an early age. Learned it in his father's office, at the end of Lionel's hands. So Clark will let Lex take it, will watch as Lex bends, and he'll do it without hesitation. Because Clark knows that every time Lex bends is a time Adam doesn't break. And Clark won't let Adam break, not while he's there to watch over him.
