So, I was at this thing yesterday...
Nov. 7th, 2004 11:42 pmSo, Friday lunchtime finds me standing in the Morrisons near where I work going through the cold remedy capusules (and discarding pretty much everything with the mutter of "not suitable for vegetarians") and trying to stave off the cold I can feel developing. It doesn't work. And on a related note how come so much snot can come out of one nose?!.
Anyway, apart from the copious use of hankies and one of the EasyJet guys at Newcastle having a minor meltdown, the flight went okay and I was safely enscounced in
temaris's flat on Friday night.
And then it's Saturday. We get to Wembley at about 7:45am and park the car. (At this point Tem is highly impressed by the fact that they gave us free parking, so the day is off to a good start.) We queue behind the other couple of hundred people who turned up before us, filling the 75 minutes before the doors open with geektudery. And also confusing the people who were coming for the Womens Conference and getting quite confused at the amount of people who seemed to be wearing some variation or other of military uniforms. (Between the Aliens people and the Stargate people, we had more uniforms than an army base.)
So, after some queueing time the doors open and we descended upon the con, which went something like this:
I got pictures taken with pretty much everyone, and even the near miss with the almost-not-catching-the-plane-because-we-missed-the-alarm-and-got-up-nearly-two-hours-late thing this morning couldn't put a dampner on it.
So, now all that's left to do is to keep an eye on the website and see who they get next year *grin*
