External Harddrives and Werewolves, Oh My!
Mar. 7th, 2007 11:44 pmHa! I appear to have just ordered a 500GB external hard drive. Now all I have to do is figure out where it's going to go when it arrives. I thought I might build a little bridge type thing to go over McKay (the external I already have) and put it on top of there. I'm also wondering whether this one is going to be Dex or Emmagan. Although, it's small and grey so maybe it should be Hermiod *grin*
Also, I just realised what it is that's been bugging me about this story since it was validated on WB. I knew it wasn't the style, or the grammar, or anything on a technical level, since there were absolutely no issues with that.
It's scenario four out of the five. John's alpha of a pack of werewolves in a world that doesn't know of their existence, and he goes to the police asking him to lock him up before he changes. Firstly, he's alpha of a pack that apparently has no place to put rogue / insane weres and secondly, he's just pretty much condemned his entire pack to death. He goes to a police station, where there are cameras, and changes there, thus proving the existence of werewolves. Of territorial werewolves, already in a feud with another pack and who will kill. Now, my assumption is, most people would not be happy about discovering their next door neighbour may turn into Fido three days out of the month. In fact, I'm thinking many people would think this was pitchforks and burning torches time.
So, yeah, he's pack alpha and yet he's showing no forethought, no common sense and no care for the welfare of his pack.
Meet John Sheppard, he's apparently an alpha with no brain.
Meet Claire, she apparently spends far too much time thinking about the dynamics and logistics of werewolf packs.
