Is it wrong that I'm already eyeing up external hard drives for Shep (the laptop), and thinking 'Hmm... if SGA runs for as long as SG-1, I could fit every single episode on there!'

Also, I want to get one and call it McKay - because it'll plug into Shep when it's turned on *grin*

*g* I named Shep before I bought him. I browsed around three shops (nearly buying an entirely different laptop, before being drawn to the shop next door). I took one look at him and went 'that's Shep', and then handed over the credit card *g*

My desktop is called John, and always has been, but the laptop is largely un-named (aside from "Bastard thing!"). Shall have to rectify that. :)

No, because I'm doing the exact same thing (ie SGA s1 fit on two disks which means it's 8GB-ish so and 80GB HD would fit 10 TV series on it, hmm, I've got Doctor Who and BSG too ... hmmm, maybe I need a bigger external HD ...)

However you really have to call it McKay when you get it!

That always bugs me, 'we're off to another galaxy so it's *really important* that our computers match and are trademarked'! Sorry! I'm thinking of putting random stickers on my laptop ... butterflies and smiley faces.

How goes the hard disk search?!

I've pretty much decided I'm getting one. I've been eyeing Amazon, and they're pretty good. At some point I'm going to wander over to the place near me that has Currys and Comet. (I also may pop into PC World, but only because a guy I used to work with now works there.)

Also: your DVD got posted today, so it should hopefully be with you by Thursday at the latest :-D

I keep on wandering through dabs.com (because I got my laptop from them) and eyeing hard drives. But I can't decide how big a drive I want, how much I'm prepared to pay. Then I start lusting over all the gadgets!
