LJ, Firefox and Thunderbird

A question for everyone who uses Firefox and Thunderbird. When you get notifications of replies from LJ, are you able to post an answer by typing into the text box in the e-mail message? And if you are, how do you do it?

When I try to do that, it comes up 'Comment not posted: Post required or missing parameter'

Only, I'm not doing anything different then I was when I wasn't using FF/TB.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, as I'm getting fed up of having to hit 'reply at the webpage' constantly ;-)

You can't use the email reply for comments using TB/FF. It works in the Mozilla suite, but not the other. It just flat out doesn't work and it's something mozdev is aware of, but I don't know what they're doing about it.

It won't work with Eudora and Firefox either. It was very annoying but I've just got used to clicking 'reply to comment' in gmail now.

Well, poo. It's not drastically importnant, but it's kind of annoying when I forget and type out a hugh reply in the comment box, only to find it won't post.

Doesn't work for me in Firefox either. But I always thought it was a Gmail problem.

Looks like it's a geneal Firefox issue. ah well, at least I know it's not just me doing something, or not clicking a box, or anything like that :-)

This may not solve the problem but, I use Firefox and Safari and find that I can not reply through my gmail when I am not logged in to LiveJournal. I will then get some sort of, sorry nope can't post this.

But if Ive logged into my LJ on that broswer I am able to reply through my emails with no problem.

It looks like it's some sort of Firefox/Thunderbird thing, because I'm not the only one it desn't work for *pout*
