*g* No, I had this entire plotline in my head where, when they were back on Earth, the shadowy Consortium-type people from SG-1 set Rodney up for something and get him put in jail after he refuses to betray the Atlantis mission, and he gets put into Oz. And they can't get him out, but they can get John in to protect him.
I had this scene in my head where Schillinger goes after Rodney and when his hand reaches out, fingers clamp around his wrist and Schillinger looks up and John is standing there and all he says is "He's mine."
Ooooh YUM that's a nice image *EG* And then they'd have to back it up with evidence that Rodney IS John's, yes. Mmmm.
Poor Rodney though, he'd have to be framed for something pretty bad to be put in there... mind you, destruction of entire solar systems *is* pretty bad in the cosmic book of crime, not that they could do him for that ;-)
Rodney really ought to have kept his mouth shut; 5/6 is more than 3/4! *G*
The explosion may only have destroyed 5/6 but I'll bet the rest collapsed afterwards, having lost system integrity...
The shadow consortium can do just about anything, that's their *job*. ACME Dastardly Secret Enemy #01 *G* Right until the last moment when the heroes save the day, of course. "If it wasn't for those pesky kids..."
And yes, Atlantis as a prison colony would be good. Rodney gets send there for blowing up nearly all of a system, and John for disobeying orders/killing his superior/putting in danger others, etc.
It works so well! Including the becoming pirates afterwards! And maybe they can be attacked by horny, sentient space squid too *nods vigorously*. Oooh, a bit like the Alien 3 plot, only they're just out to have sex, not reproduce...
Claire? Are you all right? I hope I didn't make you spill anything ;)
