So, there's a McShep zine due out soon - 'Military/Intelligence' - and, being the cheap-skated whore that I am I tend to write for zines I want in the hopes that the story will be accepted and don't have to pay for the zine.

So, I wrote McShep. And adannu and temaris beta'ed. I got both the beta'ed versions back today. And, apart from both pointing out the same bits that need changing *grin*, Tem pointed out that the story isn't finished.

*sigh*

The problem is, she's right.

So, Claire learns threetwo things today.

1. I'm apparently writing a longer story than I first thought.
2. It looks like I'm buying the M/I zine.
3. I really do get purple when there's no one there to stop me.

ETA: I also learned I use the word 'So' a lot when starting sentences...

Is Connotations another McShep zine? Because I had a fic I started for M/I, but the cover art didn't look like something my mom'd like to see arriving in the mail. Plus it too looks like it's gonna be ridiculously long, and there's no way I'd've finished it in time for M/I.

No, Connotations is a UK slash convention that Tem and I run. Each year we have a con zine with fic from the attendees in it. (It's not set out like that, it's just that all the stories so far have been from people who were attending the con :)

Sure -- though I will say that I've never seen WaT, so all I can offer on that one is style and general plot and pacing related stuff.

I just tweaked the beta - mostly to revise a coupole of my spelling mistakes and include the brackets I meant to do and completely forgot.

Who is putting out 'Military/Intelligence'? I have only been able to find publishers that have gen SGA coming out.

M/I is being put out by redshirtpress.

And there's also Ocean View 2 coming out soon, which is McShep :)
