It's just put a 17 year old Rodney in a car with his family, arguing about going on holiday. About how he can't afford to take time away from his studies, and all Jeannie can do is laugh, and "Come on, Rodney, you'll be in a place where no one knows just how sad you are. You might even get someone to look at you."
But Rodney just ignores her and stares out the window, Frank-Kamenetskii equation running through his head as fast as the trees seem to be speeding by.
"Please," his mother says, turning in her seat to glare at both of them. "This is the first family vacation we've had in so long, please don't spoil it."
Especially since they're both old enough to know better and to not squabble like children, but Rodney and Jeannie are too much alike to ever get along without friction.
"So you chose an American holiday camp?" Jeannie says snidely, barely a second before the exact same words almost came out of Rodney's mouth.
"Jake..." Marjorie looks at her husband, imploringly.
"Don't look at me," he replies, not taking his eyes off the road, "they take after your side of the family."
"It'll be fun," Marjorie says, glancing back at them again. "There's lots to do, lots of activities."
Rodney rolls his eyes, sure that the only activities happening over the next two weeks are going to be involving him and his laptop somewhere quiet. After all, what else could there be to do at Kellerman's?

"Who?" Kavanagh looks over. "Oh, John Sheppard and Teyla Emmagan? Ignore them, they're just here to entertain the customers."
But he can't ignore them, can't take his eyes off them as there's a flash of skin and Teyla's ankle is on John's shoulder, head almost touching the floor as she bends backwards, dragged along the dancefloor in a graceful curve.
