Here we go again...

*sigh*

Don't like the fandom? Then fuck off. Seriously. No one in SGA is forcing you to read/write/watch. For the love of god, get over it, grow up and have the backbone to sign your name to your opinions.

Anonymemes are so funny. It's always like, 90% totally obvious, boring opinions that half the fandom has anyway, like "The writing's not that great!" or "John and Rodney: not that slashy!" or "Has anyone noticed, Carson's kind of sketchy?" or "Wow, they just don't do minority characters well."

So you're like, la la la, bored... and then there's that 10% crazy talk like "SGA is the meanest fandom EVER!" or "I don't see any canon evidence for John/Teyla!"

Uh.... huh. Okay!

well, and by "funny," I mostly mean "pathetic," in that people *must* realize that they *could* say these things out loud and not get drummed out of fandom-- they just obviously don't want to because they'd rather be fakes.

Hell, I think I say that once or twice a week and no one's ridden me out of the fandom yet *g*

"SGA is the meanest fandom EVER!"

And we are. We're so mean it's not even funny. I mean, only last week I kicked a kitten...

No shit! Some people seriously don't have enough real world things to worry about. If you've got that much free time to devote to negativity, you're incredibly fucked up. If you only feel comfortable expressing your opinions so that no one knows they're yours, then how do you know any of your friends are actually your friends? Yuck and ugh. *Kicks stupid people*

I know. It's like, "omg! sga fandom is so mean and horrible!" and all I can think is, 'then why the hell are you apparently in it?' And then I want to shake them and tell them to get a backbone.

Some people really need to find something better to do with their time. I don't know.. watch paint dry or something.

They could come clean my flat. Boring *and* productive.

I would like to second this. Only cleaning my house would be boring productive and give them all something to genuinely be disgusted and offended by, hehehe.

There just aren't enough hours in the day to be clean and write crackfic, you know?

This sounds like a plan. They come do the housework, and we write.

You know, I'd even let them wear paper bags over their heads if anonymity is that important...

*g* Which is why I tend to write crackfic and let the house fend for itself ;)

And it would leave you more time to write. Win!

I always find that reading about Sheppard and McKay fucking passes the time nicely ;)

But dammit, they have a *right* to whine anonymously! You're trampling on their god given right to sound like morons whilst wearing big paper bags over their heads.

If they signed their names we might realise that these important, intelligent people are actually anonymous h8ers. And it would break our ickle hearts. Sob.

Yeah. Me too.

We should start Bitch Pride: Say It, Sign It.

Have to say that I really don't like the word bitch there. It says rather too much about how society is accustomed to thinking of women who assert themselves. Owning your own opinions isn't being a bitch. It's being a normal human being with opinions. It's not being afraid of voicing those opinions because pof what people would think or say or do. Calling women who voice their own opinions bitches -- even when it is self-directed -- hardly encourages others to join in.

There are far too many opportunities for the world to swipe at us. Let's not help it along.

Frighteningly, I think some of them actually believe that.
