External Hard Drive Ponderings

moonlettuceSo, after The Great Dex Death of 2007 (in which one of my external HDs went the way of the dodo), I've decided to replace said deceased drive. Only, I can't decide what to go with.
So, the options are:
Freecom 500GB
Pros: Cheap, so I can buy a couple of them.
Cons: Dex was also a Freecom, so I'm a little hesitant.
Western Digital 750GB
Pros: Dude! 750GB!
Cons: I've had a couple of friends who've had the MyBook die on them (although, admitedly, at least one of those was after he'd knocked it over).
LaCie 500GB
Pros: Again, it's cheap.
Cons: Some of the reviews seem pretty terrible.
Help me, flist, you're my only hope...
