So, I should be going to bed and instead I'm plotting out a Primeval/Sentinel crossover in my head.

Also, to the part of my flist not into Primeval, I'm sorry that all I seem to post about these days is a show with emo man!love and CGI dinosaurs ;)

It really was more fun than sleeping. The thought was that Stephen would be caught in the past when an anomaly closed. And Nick tried to reach it, hadn't even needed the words when Connor had looked at him with horror as the anomaly started to shrink. But he wasn't close enough, wasn't fast enough, and Stephen was gone.

Nick doesn't think he's slept more than a few hours since, always at the ARC, always waiting for the alarm to signal another anomaly. When the klaxon rings, Nick's moving before the first note has hit the air.

Lester's looking at him and Nick knows he'll be in the man's office by the end of the day. Knows it like he knows coffee and whiskey can only carry him so far. And he wants to leave as soon as Connor's pinned down the location, but he has to wait for Abby. Wait for Abby, who won't let him have the keys to his own jeep, who hasn't trusted him with them since a week after Stephen was lost.

The anomaly's tucked away in an abandoned warehouse, beautiful and tempting, and Nick thinks nothing's come through yet, think's it's just going to be a sit and watch until there's movement in the shadows and the murmur of his name.

So where's the Sentinel crossover come in?

It comes in because Nick's crouched in the corner of a dirty warehouse with Stephen's fingers wrapped in a death grip on his jacket. And Abby and Connor are next to them, touching Stephen to make sure it's really him, questions fired at him. But Stephen's not answering, is burying his head deeper into Nick's chest and all Nick can hear among the whimpers is stop and please and hurts.

Nick doesn't know how long the ambulance takes to arrive, Jenny directing them paramedics over to the corner, but Stephen hasn't let him go since Nick first reached out a hand to him.

The paramedics are next to them now, asking questions and what happened? and what's he on? remain unanswered because Stephen still not talking and Nick doesn't know. One of them reaches out, fingers holding Stephen's chin gently as they turn his head to check his eyes.

Nick's hand jerks out, grabs Stephen's wrist as he all but screams and knocks the light away. The paramedic glances at her partner as she rubs her wrist and Nick doesn't know what the glance means, thinks he should care, but he's too busy whispering soft words to Stephen. He's too busy shielding Stephen from something Nick can't see until the paramedic pushes a needle into Stephen's arm and the last thing Stephen murmurs is Nick before his grip finally goes slack.

So, given that I've actually written exclusively Nick/Stephen fic at this juncture, does that mean I can expect exclusively Abby/Connor fic from the rest of my flist at some point?

Also, I have a child. The emo chibi!eyes thing doesn't work as well as it used to. Acquired immunity.
