Doctor Who 4x11
Jun. 21st, 2008 08:01 pmEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Donna. Oh, Donna. I hated Donna in The Runaway Bride, but she is fabulous in this series.
And this episode? The changes that they made - some huge (Martha! Ianto!) and some subtle (Ross!).
And the end. Oh my god, the end with the Bad Wolf.
And then next week!
And I won't be able to watch it because I'll be sitting in bloody Heathrow airport waiting to come home from the Meet the Hewletts thing, and arghhhhhh!
It needs to be next week right now.

Date: 2008-06-21 07:41 pm (UTC)But now, Donna rules. That bit where you could see her deciding to step in front of the lorry. That just broke me. Not quite as bad as Torchwood, because I knew there'd be a reset, but still. It showed that for all of her shouting and yelling and posturing, Donna is made of sheer steel on the inside, moreso than any of the other companions in New Who, although they are all people who have become stronger - or discovered their inner strength - due to their time with the Doctor.
And Rose has grown up a lot, I think, and is less petulant and more mature and confident while still being Rose. And all the references to Torchwood and Sarah Jane made me happy and sad.
And the trailer. EEEEEEEeeeeeee! Hey, hey, the gang's all here. Which makes me ridiculously happy.

Oh, so, so much love for this episode.

Date: 2008-06-21 11:12 pm (UTC)But WHAT was being told left me with pure, pure geeker joy. I love how each crisis threatening the earth one of the Doc's previous companions stepped up to the plate - Sarah Jane (and the kiddies!! *sob*) and Martha saving the hospital, and the Torchwood team sacrificing themselves to defeat the Sontarons... *clutches heart*
Next week. Dude. Next week. I may not survive having so much awesome on the screen within the same stretch of 45 minutes =)
