Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Donna. Oh, Donna. I hated Donna in The Runaway Bride, but she is fabulous in this series.

And this episode? The changes that they made - some huge (Martha! Ianto!) and some subtle (Ross!).

And the end. Oh my god, the end with the Bad Wolf.

And then next week!

And I won't be able to watch it because I'll be sitting in bloody Heathrow airport waiting to come home from the Meet the Hewletts thing, and arghhhhhh!

It needs to be next week right now.

Yes! Donna is teh awesome, which is truly and utterly amazing because, like you, I pretty much was glad to see the back of her after Runaway Bride. I mean, she wasn't quite as horrific in that as I'd feared she'd be in that ep, so I didn't hate the character, but I did find her irritating and screechy in parts and mostly meh.

But now, Donna rules. That bit where you could see her deciding to step in front of the lorry. That just broke me. Not quite as bad as Torchwood, because I knew there'd be a reset, but still. It showed that for all of her shouting and yelling and posturing, Donna is made of sheer steel on the inside, moreso than any of the other companions in New Who, although they are all people who have become stronger - or discovered their inner strength - due to their time with the Doctor.

And Rose has grown up a lot, I think, and is less petulant and more mature and confident while still being Rose. And all the references to Torchwood and Sarah Jane made me happy and sad.

And the trailer. EEEEEEEeeeeeee! Hey, hey, the gang's all here. Which makes me ridiculously happy.

The end, with that look on the Doctor's face. That just broke me into little tiny pieces.

So much of it broke me. Wilf crying when they took Jival and his family on the truck. And Jival knowing exactly what was happening and still trying to smile when he was saying goodbye to Donna. And then when Donna realised. And when they see the stars going out and Donna just turns around and says "I'm ready."

And just the way they dropped the little bits in, like Martha not surviving the hospital's trip to the moon, and Sarah Jane being there and presumed lost, as well. And the Torchwood team giving up their lives to stop the Sontarans.

Oh, so, so much love for this episode.

This ep was such a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, how it was told and the general execution left me pretty much 'meh' - with the exception of Tate who was just bloody brilliant. That final moment when, even without knowing the Doc and all those lessons, she put herself in front of that truck - Oh Donna...

But WHAT was being told left me with pure, pure geeker joy. I love how each crisis threatening the earth one of the Doc's previous companions stepped up to the plate - Sarah Jane (and the kiddies!! *sob*) and Martha saving the hospital, and the Torchwood team sacrificing themselves to defeat the Sontarons... *clutches heart*

Next week. Dude. Next week. I may not survive having so much awesome on the screen within the same stretch of 45 minutes =)
