Big Bangs

So I keep looking at big bang communities (spn_j2_bigbang I'm not talking about you. honest.) and thinking 'maybe I should sign up...' Only I really shouldn't, because the nearest I've come to writing 20,000 words was mcshep_match in 2008, and I tend to write short. And porny. Short and porny. I'm like the Ron Jeremy of fanfic*.

And on top of that, the only plot I've got that I could conceivably stretch out to 20K is the rps pirate!au, which is Jeff/Jensen and Jared/Misha, and I'd really want to write Dean/Castiel, because they're my pairing right now.

And I've got mmom which, granted, is another 4 months away, but still! 31 days of wank! I failed so spectacularly at wanking last year, so I'm going to do the 31 days this year, even if I've got to start writing right now**.

And why do I keep wanting to sign up for things when I know how bad I am at deadlines ::sigh::

I'm restraining myself from the SPN Big Bang on the grounds that I've never written in the fandom, never written above 13,000 words at all, and I'm in the last 6 months of a PhD... but it's still a struggle.

You're not the only one that's having the urge. I was actually signed up for apocabigbang but given the Secret Santa stuff and the fact I've been sick since like the second week of December, I backed out. I've already got the outline though (Dean/Castiel of course), and I'm going to write it anyway. Surely I'd be able to have it done by May. And then there's the Jensen/Misha Prohibition AU and or the Jensen/Misha Velvet Goldmine fusion. I just...yeah. Like I said, you're not the only one trying to fight the urge.
