I've just seen a Hawaii Five-0 fic that listed the pairing as Steven/Daniel, which made my mind shoot straight past Danny Williams and land firmly on Daniel Jackson. Which, I've got to say, made for actually a pretty nice mental image ::grin::

It is funny how certain names bring specific characters to mind, even when it's not their fandom. I see Daniel and think Jackson, too. It can be a bit of a mind twist, trying to wrap your head around ~why is that person there and...oh. Wrong fandom! lol

I will never cease to be amused by the fact that one of katemonkey's Losers fics got listed in the Supernatural newsletter because they didn't realise it wasn't actually that Jensen ::grin::

Also, it threw me because I've never heard the characters refer to themselves as Steven or Daniel, and using them in a header seemed, I dunno, kinda pretentious. (Even though I don't believe that was the author's intention at all.)
