Well, no matter what I do I can't get the computer to stop booting up in safe mode. So, I've been burning everything to disk, and am going to get the new shiny later on today.

Right now, however, I'm going to bed as I've been up for a little over 23 hours and I'm bloody knackered.

I have the new shiny! And I'm online! And I'm about to go and grab SGA *grin* (Hey, a girl's gotta have priorities...)

Anyway, the new shiny's name is Lorne. (It fits in with the laptop being Sheppard, the external harddrive being McKay and the flash drive being Zelenka *g*)

I've just spent the last couple of hours fiddling around and putting various bits back on - like deleting IE and sticking on FireFox.

Lorne came with a TFT flat screen monitor, so it's all new and shiny and, er... flat. And the fact that I now have a 300GB harddrive means that I can see much dl'ing in my future *g*

And since I had to clear the desk off I now have so much space. It's weird, as I'm used to being surrounded by clutter, and now it's like... ahhhh! space!
