moonlettuce: (Misc: Naughty Librarian)
I'm going to be away overnight tomorrow due to work and this was the process I've just gone through while packing my bag:

Notebook? Check.
Actual book? Check.
Other notebook which has half-written story in it that I might finish? Check.
Is it worth taking another book with me? Okay, I'll only be gone one night, but still, you never know what could happen? Check
Third notebook with yet another half-written story in it that I might finish? Check.

::sits down to check e-mail and surf online::

::Two hours later::

Me: I'm pretty sure I've forgotten something.

::continues to surf online and check LJ and ooh, new fic--::

Me: Bugger! Clothes!

Fear me, people, for I managed to pack five books into my bag for one overnight stay and forget the actual clothes I'll need to wear.

Dear nursery who sent an e-mail advert around our work today,

If you're advocating yourselves as a place of learning for young and impressionable minds, it might make more of a statement if your six rather short paragraphs didn't contain one spelling mistake, two grammar errors and one homophone.

If I had kids* and was inclined to pay £900 a month for your services, gotta say, that wouldn't have impressed me.

No love,

Me

* Although, I suppose I could always send the cat. Not quite sure how the finger-painting would turn out, mind...

A few months ago I read an article about paper sculptures that were being left around Edinburgh by an anonymous artist. I hadn't realised that article had been updated with the now full story until [livejournal.com profile] morganmuffle re-linked to it.

Everyone who hasn't already read this really should. These sculptures are amazing and I just love the way the artist did this. Whoever she is, she deserves massive praise for both the utterly stunning sculptures and the awesome way she carried this out.
